Old cars have that charm about them of past times. Even if you don’t like cars, old timers like the ones you will see at this event never really leave you indifferent.
So the Sitges Vintage Rallye is all about gleaming vintage cars, dating from before 1924 that parade for crowds of spectators on the streets of Barcelona and race for 45km along the coast up to Port Aiguadolc in Sitges, where the finishing line is located.
You can view the cars on Saturday at Barcelona‘s Parc de la Ciutadella, before they start from Sant Jaume square on Sunday morning on their tour around the coast.
But this isn’t really a normal car race: the winner really depends more upon the car itself than the time taken to cover the distance, with extra points being awarded for dressing up in the appropriate vintage clothing.
Sunday – Morning Sant Jaume Square (Barcelona); Afternoon Port Aiguadolc (Sitges)
Sitges – take a train at Barcelona Sants Main train station (30m trip)
