Hey, architecture lovers! In Barcelona, during the weekend of 22 & 23 October 2011 and in it’s second consecutive year, 48H Open House BCN (OHB_2011) will be held. Be Hostels advices you to go everywhere to see the hidden places that you have no chance to see during the rest of the year.

This informative and completely free event, which during the first edition opened more than 130 buildings of different types, shapes and sizes to the public and which was enjoyed by more than 25.000 people, maintains its commitment of bringing closer and popularising the excellence of good architecture and urbanism.
“Eyes, minds and open doors to architecture, urbanism and the good design of Barcelona”. This sums up one of the basis of 48H Open House BCN, a festival for everyone, which in its second edition, remains true to its essence in working to consolidate and improve its proposal.
Architect Janice Moret, member along with Gemma Solanellas and Elisenda Bonet of ArquitecturaReversible, association that organizes the event, commented: “The 48H Open House BCN is an opportunity to learn about, in a personal way, the emblematic buildings of the city and also the more hidden ones. It is a chance to talk about the buildings we have and those we want to improve our immediate surroundings”.
A streetlight, a library, a private house, an office building, a hotel or group of historic buildings, often inaccessible places during the rest of the year, are some of the many types of spaces that open their doors to the locals and all those who visit Barcelona during this period.
160 buildings that are open for you for free visits during 48 hours. The full list you can see HERE.
