Be Hostels wants to invite you to the half-marathon in Barcelona, also known as the Asics Mitja Marató de Barcelona, held this February. It’s the second largest running event in Barcelona after the Barcelona Marathon. The next half-marathon takes place on February 17th, 2013, and is also open to wheelchair users.

The Barcelona half marathon offers you the opportunity to run through the streets of the city. It is an event that runners from around the world come to the city to be involved in. Whether you are an experienced runner or this is your first ever half marathon, this is an event that you will enjoy and feel proud to have been involved in.
The 21,0975 km long route takes the runners from the Arc de Triomf, by the old town, to the Plaça Catalunya. From there it goes down the famous Ramblas and along Avenida del Paral·lel. Then it goes through the modernist Eixample district back to the Arc de Triomf, the Parc de la Ciutadella, and further into the eastern part of the Eixample to the Torre Agbar, one of the most striking buildings in Barcelona. The route then takes runners along the Diagonal street, then goes on to the Fòrum and then back towards the center alongside the beach until the Parc de la Ciutadella and Arc de Triomf, which is the finishing line. This route marks out a very interesting and varied street circuit taking runners through some of the moste beautiful and emblematic parts of this great city.
It is possible to register for the Barcelona half marathon either on the internet or in person. It is important to note that you cannot register via telephone, fax or e-mail.
