Attention, fans of the world of aviation! The Barcelona Air Festival, La Festa al Cel, starts its engines! Come there with Be Hostels to enjoy the show with more than 350,000 people on the coast of Barcelona.
The show puts an end to the Mercè festival with a program of four hours of aerobatics, in which the public will enjoy the expertise and professionalism of some of the best pilots in the world. From 12 noon to 16:30 pm 20 group exhibitions offer their participants. Although the party is on Sunday, will be seen arriving and training on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at various hours of the morning and evening.
Among the participants of this 20th edition are the Eagle Patrol of the Air Force, with 7 reactors CASA C-101 Aviojet-charge of the clause-Patrol Airborne Air Force (Pape)-considered the best equipment world- The group 43 of the firefighting Canadair CL-215T, based in Torrejon de Ardoz, and Puma SAR 801 Squadron, which will perform a simulated rescue at sea.
La Festa al Cel 2011 participants will also have French, Swiss and Belgians, in addition to the Breitling Wingwalkers, one of the world’s most acclaimed acrobats by the boldness of its pilots over the wings of two planes. Also, ruussian pilot Svetlana Kapanina, the best pilot of the century of Aeronáutina Federation (IAF), will honor the 100th anniversary of first flight over Barcelona by a woman.
Victor Chmal, world champion aerobatic will show the abiliuties of Sukhoi aeroplanes on a board of a SU-29, while Alvaro Bultó, Santi Corella and Toni López displayed with the project how it is posible to jump of a helicopter and not open a parachute until you are just few feet off the ground. Spanair another year participated in the festival with one of its Airbus 320 without passengers. The new addition this year is the Centre d’Estudis Superiors de l’Aviació reus, which is incorporated into the Festa al Cel with two twin-engine Diamond DA-art-42, to celebrate its first decade.
From Mar Bella and Nova Mar Bella beaches in Barcelona you can see an airbus, a fire-fighting plane, helicopters, fighter planes in formation and parachute displays at close range over the beaches of Barcelona. The airshow is on Sunday 2/10, but on Friday 30 September and Saturday 1 October there will be practise sessions. Visit the BCN airshow website for full programme and list of participating aircraft.
